Here is a project that we think you’ll be interested in – introducing Harvestsafe Aotearoa!
Harvestsafe is a limited-term research project on community garden and māra kai soil in Aotearoa New Zealand. Māra/gardens can join the research as community-scientists, and learn more about the environmental quality of their soil while helping us learn about soil around Aotearoa! We’ll ask you to fill in a 15-minute questionnaire and send a bag of soil from your garden to the University of Auckland. We will send you a report on metal contaminants and be in conversation with you about what next.
We’re now receiving new garden/māra recruits until the end of December 2024, so share widely and get in touch with our researcher Moss at bcao914@aucklanduni.ac.nz asap if you’d like to participate!
